Brood Mares:
(Scroll down to see all the mares)

Since we began breeding miniature horses we have sought out colorful marked patterns, and mostly black pintos for our breeding. Knowing that half of the genes are past on to the offspring from the mare, the broodmares we chose, as well as those we kept from our own breeding, had to be unique. We have been frequently asked for photos of the dams of our foals. Here at last are our treasured broodmares.

Forester Creek Tiara 30.75 inches A 94871
Bay Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes. Homozygous for Black.

Tiara was born with two red ears and a small red crescent on her forehead. Otherwise she appears white. She has been lab tested and has been shown to be genetically a bay, frame (LWO), sabino, who is homozygous for black. She can never produce a chestnut foal. When she is wet a large number of black speckles appear on her skin due to the sabino gene. She also has a number of black patches on her muzzle. Her pedigree includes Deerhorn Valley, Sonita Highlands, Arabays, Bay El Bay and Celebes. Tiara has produced four frame overos, and a sabino pinto foal thus far.

Sire: Forester Creeks Rag Time Blue
Dam: Deerhorn Valley Becca

MCDS Evette 32.00 inches A 126105
Silver Bay Frame Sabino Overo Pinto, with Blue Eyes. Homozygous for Red.

Evette is a double bred frame overo. Her sire is La Vista Brilliant Remark, a chestnut Frame Overo Pinto, by La Vista Remarkables Remarkable, a Rowdy grandson, with Bond on his dam's side. Her sire now lives in the UK at Birchwood Farm. Her dam is Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed, a black Frame Sabino Pinto, with a Lazy Acres, Ohios, and Dell Teras linage. Her first foal was Pacific Cappuccino, a pure sabino overo colt. This mare was bred by Jeanette McDonald. We are grateful to Patty Wilhoite for allowing us to purchase this exceptional mare.

Sire: La Vista Brilliant Remark
Dam: Ashley Acres Eve Was Framed

Pacific Black Eyed Susan 32.00 inches A 132722
Jet Black Frame Tovero Pinto, with Blue Eyes.

Susie sire is Sugar Creek Bolero, a jet black tobiano pinto stallion with blue eyes, from the Bond and Gold Melody lines. Her dam is Rolling Hills Strawberry Shortcake, a red roan frame overo pinto mare from the Flying W Farms and Shady Acres lines. Strawberry was the top selling mare at The Miniature Horse Event in Texas in 1997 where she was purchased for over $20,000 by Aloha Ashly Acres. Combining two superior pedigree lines we are anxiously awaiting what Susie will produce.

Sire: Sugar Creek Bolero
Dam: Rolling Hills Strawberry Shortcake

Pacific China Blue 33.00 inches A 125384

Black Buckskin with Amber Eyes, and Crescent.

China is the offspring of our broodmare Rowdy Lass, a Rowdy and Top Banana decendent. Her sire is Sid's Terminator, a double bred both Roan Ranger and Boones Little Apache son. China was born the most beautiful iridescent coffee color with bright blue eyes. Her eyes changed over the next six months until they were amber. We originally thought she was a champagne, but after doing genetic testing we think she is a black buckskin. Her dam is homozygous for black and both China and Rowdy Lass carry the dilute gene. She remains a sparkling iridescent color in the light.

Sire: Sids Terminator
Dam: Samis Miss Banana Rowdy Lass

Benchmark My Darling Clementine 29.50 inches A 89850

Samis Khalua 30.25 inches A 44290
Mahogany Bay

Kahlua is a AMHA National Grand Champion Shadow Oaks Top Banana daughter. She is a deep mahogany bay, with jet black mane and tail, a beautiful head, and large black doe eyes. One would think you could stare deep into her soul when you look at her. A gentle personality, combined with a tenderness for foals, she warms our hearts. Jasmine 33.25 inches A TR IMHR T2718
Jet Black, with Dark Blue Eyes.

We first saw Jasmine trotting across the Winner's Circle Ranch. Barbara Norman told me she was 21 years old!! I could not believe it. We purchased her and had people asking to buy her two weeks after she arrived. The Norman's kept her in fantastic shape on their large ranch. If ever there was a testimony in how a well cared for horse can live a great, long life, Jasmine is it! She had six foals for Winners Circle, bred to their show stallions, and we hope one, or two more for us. Produced by Linda Marzac, my mentor, she is a remarkable horse.

Sire: Lil Kellum Prince
Dam: Sligo Strawberry

Las Doradas Tiffany's Lace 34.00 inches A 61581
Jet Black Tobiano Pinto

Though Lacey was not born here, she was purchased at four days old, and she and her dam were brought to our farm where she was raised by us. Lacey even as a newborn was an elegant horse. Beautiful long legs and movement combined to make her not only a wonderful mare, but a perfect broodmare. Her pedigree includes Dell Teras, Shadow Oaks and Shady Acres. Lacey has produced seven foals for us, including two spectacular colts; Pacific Mad Hatter and Pacific Wildfire.

Some horses we find, and some find us. The breeder of Easter, Ginger Maloney, contacted us in 2002 and asked us if we would be interested in this mare. Easter is one of only two foals registered to Medicine Man, who is a Rowdy decedent, and a striking Tovero stallion with similar markings to Easter. She is also the grand daughter of NFC Rowdys Top News, a 1990 AMHA National Champion; and Smithdeals Apache Kids Scout, an 1992 AMHA National Top Ten Stallion. Both sire and dam are pintos and have a large number of pintos in their pedigree.

Sheza LTDS Lucky Charm 33.00 inches A70669
Bay Frame Sabino Pinto, Left Eye Blue. Homozygous for Black.

It would be hard to express the number of superlatives needed to describe Lucky Charm! She is beautiful to watch move, and is as friendly as a puppy dog. We just love having her. She goes out of her way to find people to nuzzle, and is equally friendly with other mares. She was previous owned by Linda Baerthlein Marzac where I saw her at Sugar Creek Ranch. She was then sold to Aloha Acres in Florida, and I spent several years trying to convince Henry Horrox to sell her to me. She was a favorite of his, and I understand why. Lee Crutchfield eventually convinced him to sell her. We are very grateful he did.

She has been genetically tested and is a bay, frame (LWO), Sabino (sb1), that is homozygous for black. She has tested negative for the silver gene.

Sire: Shredder

Shown here in foal at 17 years old, she has produced ten foals, including Aloha Acres Terminators Hercules, a 1999 AMHA Reserve National Champion. We have retained two of her fillies for future breeding. She is an exceptional mare that we were lucky to acquire from Henry Horrox.

This stunning horse was owned by my mentor, Lynda Barthlein Marzac, for several years before Lynda (Sugar Creek Ranch) retired from miniature horse breeding. I coveted this mare from the moment I saw her walking across the field. We were very fortunate to acquire Angel. Bred by Lois Myler, Angel is a decedent of the famous Sample, and the Winks Shodeo lines. Lois Myler rebred Angel's sire and dam several times, but was never able to recreate any foal like Angel. She is a unique, one of a kind horse, which we treasure. Angel has tested positive for the frame (LWO), as well as the Sabino (SB1) genes.

Angel is the dam of Pacific Justin Time, our black frame stallion.
